Big box stores don't have any experience. Sometimes they are subbing out an installer that might have the ability and experience to get a job done well, on time, and for the right price. But not all three. Neither does the person in the store really know about flooring. And let's not get started on big box store product.
There are other stores around town. Most if not all of these stores, do not have their own installers. They use subcontracted labor and don't take upon themselves the liability of employees or training.
Guys working out of their homes and trucks have no real presence in the market or online and can run away from problems and mistakes.
